2018: SAP disconnected Power Machines from access to Hybris Cloud for Customer

In April, 2018 to Power Machines access to a cloud service of SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer was turned off, told a source of TAdviser with reference to the high-ranking employee of Power Machines.

It was preceded by getting of the company into the sanctions list of the USA: Power Machines appeared there in January, 2018 because of deliveries of turbines to the Crimea.

In January, 2018 Power Machines fell under sanctions of the USA (a photo - metallostroy.org)

Delivery conditions and uses of software of Hybris stated on the website of this division of SAP mean shutdown from it of the clients who fell under sanctions and embargo from the European Union and the USA. Export laws of the different countries extend to the company and its technologies, including, without restrictions, the European Union country and the USA, said in the confidentiality agreement Hybris.

SAP Hybris should take measures to prevent access to the products, technologies and services from the organizations which are in the state sanctions lists it is specified in the same place. Such measures can include regular checks of the registered users of products and services of the company at updates of sanctions lists and, in case of coincidence, blocking of access by it to these products and[1].

Hybris was provided for Power Machines from a cloud of SAP which is physically placed on the platform of Rostelecom, - explains a source of TAdviser. - But Rostelecom does not influence shutdown, despite all early beliefs in the return in any way.

In practice, according to the interlocutor of TAdviser, shutdown happens according to the following scheme: each large vendor has a department which monitors updates of sanctions lists, and checks whether the vendor works with them, it is not important - directly or through the partner. If in the list there is a client, this department requires from the headquarters to turn off services to this client. The headquarters sends the notification to the Russian office, and that is to the customer.

Power Machines and SAP CIS do not disprove disconnection of the company from the solution Hybris, but refuse to comment on this subject. In Masterdat, acting as the partner in implementing solution for Power Machines, and Rostelecom did not answer questions of TAdviser concerning blocking.

The news about SAP implementation of Hybris Cloud for Customer published in 2017 in 2018 disappeared from the website of Power Machines.

2017: Start of Hybris Cloud for Customer in operation

On September 25, 2017 announced SAP CIS start by the Power Machines power engineering company in operation of a cloud solution of SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer for optimization of sales. The Masterdata company acted as the partner in implementation.

Project objective was creation of the centralized digital model of sales and customer service based on SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer. Also using a cloud solution technical functioning of multi-channel contact center for work with the entering addresses from new clients was provided.

Based on SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer in Power Machines operational processes of precontract activities and approval of clients of the price of goods were automated, the single database, history and the analysis of customer interaction, accounting of competitors, products and results appeared.

The project was implemented in six months during which the solution was adapted for specifics of tasks of Power Machines, and integration with SAP ERP was carried out.
