On December 29, 2016 the Softline company announced project completion of SAM Baseline according to the complex analysis of use of software of Microsoft in Pryma Distribution companies, Kazakhstan.
Project Tasks
For formation of an overall picture of a status of IT infrastructure and the subsequent expense optimization on support and software updating according to business challenges by the IT company management made the decision on carrying out the project on methodology of SAM. It was necessary to update data on the number of PCs/servers, the used licenses within available contracts of Microsoft, to create the plan for upgrade of outdated versions of software. The IT partner selected Softline company which specialists have necessary competences on project implementation of Software Asset Management.
Project Results
IT infrastructure of the customer includes about 780 PCs and servers with low extent of virtualization.
The analysis of program assets allowed to set precisely the volume of the used software in the company, to prepare recommendations about process optimization of management of lifecycle of solutions of Microsoft. It will allow to pass to use of the latest editions of software products without the need for increase and upgrade of server capacities and also to optimize workloads and to reduce the IT budget.
As a result the customer obtained up-to-date information about a current status of IT infrastructure and the plan of transition to higher level of a maturity of processes of SAM.
