At the end of October 2025, it became known that the production of electric buses based on Chinese Skywell models was organized in St. Petersburg. Cars under the Neva Electro brand are assembled at the Unipak Auto company.
According to the Buses and in General Telegram channel, the Unipak Auto plant has mastered the production of Neva Electro 685601 electric buses, the basis of which is Skywell NJL6856BEV. Vehicles are assembled from imported Chinese car kits.
Resource "First Technical" notes that Skywell NJL6856BEV is a low-floor model of the middle class. The electric bus is highly energy efficient and environmentally friendly, providing passengers with comfortable and safe movement along city routes.
The machine is equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 120 kW. On one charge of the battery pack, the bus is able to cover a distance of up to 310 km. Dimensions are 8.65 × 2.5 × 3.32 m. Inside can accommodate up to 64 passengers, 20 seats are provided. The list of additional options includes air conditioning, video surveillance system in the cabin, video screen, fire protection in the engine compartment, etc.
In St. Petersburg, a fleet of electric buses is actively developing. The city buys new machines (including Volgabus-5270.E0) and tests other models. An innovative fleet of electric buses is being built in the Rzhevka production zone, which is planned to be commissioned in 2026. The emergence of this site is expected to contribute to the socio-economic development of the city by improving the quality of transport services for the population. The fleet is created using the latest technological solutions. The launch of the facility will ensure the creation of approximately 2 thousand new jobs[1]
