Content

Romil Company LLC (Nizhny Novgorod) is engaged in production and distribution of caviar of salmon and chastikovy breeds of fishes, seafood and sea delicacies, pastes and also fish, canned and vegetable meat. It is an official distributor of producers of food Green Ray, Groot, Baltic Coast and Vichyunay. Opening of representations in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Samara and Syktyvkar allowed the company to expand geography of deliveries considerably.

The extensive geography of deliveries requires competent management of trade inventories and high-quality purchase planning. For effective management of the developed retail chain stores the company management made the decision on implementation of a corporate information system in all regional representative offices.

Project works were charged to 1C-Rarus Nizhny Novgorod company (1C: Franchisee, Nizhny Novgorod) which specialists have experience of automation of large trade enterprises. The information system is implemented on the basis of the 1C: Trade Management 8 software product on the 1C:Enterprise 8 platform.

Within the project of automation express inspection was carried out, the technical specifications are developed and tuning of a system is performed. Then setup of data collection terminals was made. After user training the stage of trial operation of an information system began. The works on all stages of the project were completed just in time.

Now the staff of the central office in Nizhny Novgorod and also offices in Moscow and St. Petersburg works in a common information space. 32 jobs are automated. Works on automation of other regional representative offices are continued.

One of the most relevant project tasks was the problem of warehouse automation. Let's consider it in more detail.

Warehouse automation

Prior to the beginning of project works in an inventory control of the company search of necessary goods was complicated. Inventory of a warehouse quite often revealed regrading, i.e. shortage of one sort and at the same time excess of other sort of goods of the same name. Insufficient orderliness of document flow in a warehouse, the lack of necessary control and also a human factor – carelessness of responsible persons were the reasons of regrading. Selection of goods for shipment, as well as other warehouse transactions, was performed for a long time.

In these circumstances according to the requirement of the customer it was necessary to increase efficiency of the main business processes on acceptance, storage and shipment of goods and also to reduce influence of a human factor at shipment.

For the solution of the specified tasks in the company the warehouse of address storage is organized, the system of barcoding using the data collection terminals (DCT) is put into operation and also reorganization of warehouse business processes is executed.

Within implementation of a subsystem "Management of an address warehouse" operations on a prikhodovaniye, placement and rearrangement of goods, on its shipment and also on carrying out inventory are automated. Integration of an information system into the shipping documentation allows to make out these transactions most effectively. Let's notice that the special program firmware allowing to adapt the interface of the equipment and to connect its functions with the business processes of a system caused by mesh structure of a warehouse of address storage was developed previously for the shipping documentation.

At a transaction design, for example, on a goods receipt using the shipping documentation data on the barcode of goods, its quantity and an expiration date and also supplied about the location of goods and the information on the goods receipt note are automatically entered into a system. After data loading with the shipping documentation in a system the document "Receipt Warehouse Order" forms.

For goods which have an expiration date in a system series in which the loaded data on an expiration date are stored are automatically created.

Placement and rearrangement of goods

Use of address storage of goods in combination with the different strategy of its placement and selection allowed to optimize placement of goods in cells and selection of goods in a warehouse.

Placement of goods in cells is executed taking into account dimensions of packagings and the sizes of cells, filling of cells is controlled. A system "automatically determines" free cells of a warehouse which can be used for placement of goods proceeding from the storage area set for group of goods. Storage conditions for groups of goods, for example Calves, Canned food and Seafood, differ therefore for each of them the group of storage is set.

At placement of goods in a system different characteristics of goods and parameters of store cells are considered. It is temperature condition of storage of the nomenclature and temperature condition of the premises in which it is going to store goods and also goods dimensions (weight, volume) and store cell dimensions – the available weight, volume and available quantity which can be placed in a cell. Besides, availability of a store cell is defined.

For floor planning of goods the special tool – "The assistant to placement" is used. With its help it is possible to plan, for example, placement of the arrived goods near the goods having similar parameters of storage with the subsequent moving to blank cells. Other strategy provides placement of the arrived goods in partially filled cells with further moving to empty. Besides, primary placement of goods can be executed in blank cells, etc.

For optimization of placement of goods in a warehouse rearrangement transaction is executed. At the same time movement of goods in a warehouse is resulted by release from goods of some cells due to consolidation of others.

Automatic selection and reservation on expiration dates

For more effective management of goods at shipment to buyers in a system the possibility of registration of an expiration date of the nomenclature as delivery condition and also uses of this condition at automatic selection of series for reservation of goods is implemented.

Reservation of goods is executed at a stage of an execution of the preorder on future shipments. Adjustment of precedent conditions of shipment on goods series – removal of some series from a reserve and reservation instead of new series is provided. The possibility of input of the specified actual orders for shipment on the basis of the preorder is implemented.

Results of automation

The organization of a warehouse of address storage of goods allowed to reduce regrading of goods and also to reduce costs of time for preparation of goods for shipment. Thanks to the had opportunity of purchase planning and tracking of trade inventories in warehouses cases of overstocking of a warehouse became a rarity.

According to the management of Romil Company LLC, system implementation of address storage provided increase in efficiency of many business processes in a warehouse and in the adjacent areas connected with customer service of the company and it positively affects economic indicators of activity of the company.
