Upgrade of 49 weather stations

The company LANIT-Integration"" (part of the group) LANIT carried out a large-scale modernization of hard-to-reach stations on the coast and islands of the Arctic Ocean. As a result, the accuracy and reliability of the provided meteorological, information which directly affects the sustainable development of the Arctic zone, has increased. This was RUSSIAN FEDERATION announced by LANIT on June 15, 2022.

LANIT-Integration experts upgraded 49 weather stations from Svalbard to Wrangel Island. With the use of all species available in the Arctic, including with the transport help of scientific vessels Mikhail Somov and Professor Molchanov, automated meteorological complexes were delivered and installed. They measure parameters such as air temperature and humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction.

Also, to automate manual measurements of additional environmental parameters and increase their reliability, the stations were retrofitted. For this, "LANIT-Integration" installed 45 weight precipitators, 26 sensors of the meteorological range of visibility, 27 sensors of the duration of sunlight, 20 sensors of the height of the lower border of the clouds and 7 complexes for measuring soil temperature at depths.

Within the framework of the completed project, Roshydromet strengthened the reference climatic observation meteorological network with the latest technical means that allow producing better hydrometeorological information for the sustainable development of economic and economic activities in the Arctic region.

During the expedition, LANIT-Integration managed to set its own records. So, at the Khabarov station in permafrost conditions, a meteorological complex was installed in a record short time - 4 hours, with standard dates of 2-3 day.

In terms of working conditions in permafrost, the project is complex. Most of the stations were located in remote places, which can be reached exclusively with the help of specialized ships and helicopters. The successful and timely implementation of this project was made possible by the enormous experience and enthusiasm of the team, which since 2007 has been involved in the development of technical solutions for Roshydromet and the management of geographically distributed projects,
said Sergey Mikhalev, head of LANIT-Integration.

Comprehensive modernization of the hydrological network in 37 regions of Russia

On February 1, 2022, Lanit-Integration (part of the Lanit group of companies) announced that it had deployed a single hydrological observation system in the Volga River basin. This is a project to modernize water infrastructure on a fairly large scale. As a result, it was possible to reduce the share of manual measurements, increase the accuracy of observations of water bodies, as well as increase the responsiveness to dangerous natural phenomena.

As part of the completed project, the integrator installed more than 260 automated hydrological complexes in the Volga basin, as well as more than 60 sedimentary complexes that allow you to measure the level and temperature of water, the amount and intensity of precipitation in real time, as well as conduct visual observations of water bodies using photo recorders.

To centralize the processes of collecting and processing hydrological data, it was necessary to create specialized software. Therefore, Lanit-Integration has developed a platform that allows you to unify the collection of data from various measuring complexes, as well as remotely manage them. Now the specialists of Roshydromet enter the results of manual measurements on tablets, and the information enters a single database. The platform supports a microservice architecture, and this allows you to collect data from new types of sources.

This information helps Roshydromet to prevent and promptly respond to emergencies, and enterprises from various fields (agriculture, fuel and energy complex, construction, etc.) plan their economic activities.

"Further development of software for collecting and processing data on the basis of the platform we created will allow Roshydromet to carry out new types of observations and replicate collection centers throughout Russia," -

notes the head of the Lanit-Integration company Sergey Mikhalev.

Lanit-Integration specialists have been participating in projects for the technical re-equipment of the Roshydromet ground observation network since 2008. During this time, more than 2,500 automated meteorological complexes were installed throughout Russia - from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka.

2018: Modernization of the meteorological network in 70 constituent entities of the Russian Federation

On April 18, 2019, LANIT reported that LANIT-Integration specialists equipped Roshydromet's ground meteorological observation network with updated equipment. The equipment was delivered and installed at 434 facilities in 70 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The modernization of the Roshydromet ground meteorological network provides a significant reduction in the share of manual observations and increases the level of energy independence at hard-to-reach stations.

LANIT-Integration specialists installed 28 automated meteorological complexes, 73 automatic meteorological stations, three automated actinometric complexes. 100 previously installed automated meteorological complexes were equipped with an expanded set of sensors, completely updated observers software. More than 300 power supply sets were delivered and installed, including the use of solar panels and wind generators of various capacities, more than 130 sets, communications including modems Iridium and VSAT terminals.

LANIT's own developments have been successfully implemented - the Hydra complex and the KB-16 watchdog. Hydra is a complex for automatic measurement of soil temperature at depths from 5 to 320 cm, consists of 11 thermometers and a module for processing and transmission data via the digital RS-485 channel. The complex fully automates manual measurements of soil temperature carried out using elbow and exhaust thermometers.

In addition, LANIT-Integration organized the supply of mobile automated verification laboratories to Roshydromet. The laboratories are designed to automate and facilitate the process of verification of measuring channels of ground meteorological complexes at the installation sites and provide recipients with a modern reference base. 11 vehicles were re-equipped in mobile laboratories. Metrological tests of portable test kits were carried out for the following measurements: absolute pressure, temperature, humidity, speed and direction of air flow, length.

Despite the fact that this is our third major project to modernize the Roshydromet ground observation network, it is difficult to call it easy. The implementation was associated with many non-standard situations related to the extensive geography of the project, but was completed successfully and in a timely manner.
