SafePhone administers 130 Rostec smartphones

The Rostec state corporation preferred to implementation of the principles of corporate mobility (BYOD/Bring Your Own Device) use of a domestic management system for mobile devices (MDM/Mobile Device Management). As the supplier of such system for Rostec within the Service 360 project the Russian company Scientific Research Institute SOKB (Scientific and test institute of the systems of ensuring complex security) acted.

As told CNews in Scientific Research Institute SOKB, centralized operation by corporate mobile devices and this or that MDM system can provide protection of information stored on them. But in case of use by employees of personal devices as corporate, the control of such devices becomes, to put it mildly, difficult as the conflict of interest is inevitable — devices are traded on by employees, first of all, and the employer is engaged in control of the same devices. "And it is not the only reason — explained in the company. — Often there are difficulties connected with a variety of the used user devices. As a result the employer receives 'zoo' of devices with which it is necessary 'somehow' to manage, administer, support and try to provide protection of the data which are stored on devices. Therefore today most of corporate customers selected a way of providing 'office' devices to the employees".

So, in 2016 the RT-Inform company — infrastructure, 100% subsidiary of Rostec state corporation — used the MDM solution SafePhone of production of Scientific Research Institute SOKB in the Service 360 project. The Service 360 project was begun in Rostec in 2015 and aimed at centralization of IT services on the scale of state corporation. During the project uniform infrastructure of the state corporation is created.

"At the market it is presented not so many solutions intended for protection of remote access to corporate resources and centralized operation by corporate mobile devices including developed by the Russian companies — the technical director of RT-Inform Volchkov Vladimir told. — Among domestic developments there are we and Services 360' selected the solution for '. The main selection terms were: functionality, simplicity of deployment and use and the high level of security of the mobile corporate devices provided with the solution. At the same time presence at the solution of certificates of conformity on security requirements was a crucial condition.

Through SafePhone in Rostec about 130 smartphones which are in use of the top and average management of state corporation are administered.

At the same time, employees and the employer should be sure of the guaranteed data protection which they locate on the mobile device. Today many customer companies which made to us an inquiry for implementation of a MDM system realize it and understand possible effects of unauthorized access to the processed information on the mobile device — Zaglumin Pavel, the sales director of Scientific Research Institute SOKB noted. — And it concerns not only government institutions, but also the commercial organizations where employees also have very valuable information which by negligence can fall into hands to malefactors or competitors".
