Rusnano began implementation of service in management of IT assets

On March 30, 2016 the Comparex company announced the beginning of a pilot project on management of IT assets and implementation of specialized service Comparex Sam2Go for the analysis of licenses and the set software in Group of Rusnano.

Project Tasks

The customer company monitors work of IT infrastructure and purity of the used software. For this purpose in the organization the tool for technical inventory of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is used. Besides, in Group software of different vendors and different platforms is used: Windows, Mac OS that complicates holding procedures of reconciliation when using only of the SCCM tool.

As the customer selects a considerable part of the budget for acquisition to software, and control of financial risks the high priority is appropriated to a task of cost optimization. As a result of assessment of processes of management of licenses, the IT management of Rusnano made the decision on the beginning of a pilot project on control automation by program assets.

Project Progress

From the technical point of view of the company it is necessary to implement a task of high-quality collecting and recognition of the found software that as a result will help to receive exact data on installations, supporting the distributed and multiplatform infrastructure. The Comparex command needs to solve a problem of automation of inventory of virtual environments of VMware. In terms of business, Rusnano expects from the project minimization of labor costs on managements of licenses.

For March 30, 2016 plan development of implementation of the project which implementation, by estimates of participants, will take four-five months is conducted. According to experts of the contractor, cost optimization at the rate to 10-15% of the cumulative annual budget for software is expected. In addition to an economic benefit the Group of Rusnano will reduce labor costs by data collection and portfolio analysis of software, will increase efficiency of business processes and reliability of the received results.
