On June 20, 2014 the companies "RST-Invent" and Russian Post Federal State Unitary Enterprise announced the beginning of works on creation of the Global Monitoring system using which terms of passing of the control letters and international mailings marked RFID- tags will be checked.
Project Tasks
The purpose of creation of the Global Monitoring system - improvement of service quality, the terms of passing of the international and internal mailings provided by the system of a mail service of Russia by means of reduction. The objectives is going to be achieved due to automatic tracking of test letters with the enclosed RFID tags. The passings of departures given about terms will come to the uniform center of processing - the National Center of Monitoring.
Project Progress
Within the first stage, in addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, it is necessary to equip with the equipment:
"Registering test letters in each point of following, a system will reveal the arising delays that, in general, will promote operational correction of operational problems on network of a mail service of the Russian Federation. Besides, the hardware-software base constructed within the project opens ample opportunities for further use of RFID technology and in the basic logistic processes of Russian Post - Alexander Grebennik, the CEO of RST-Invent noted.
Within the project the National Center of Monitoring will be equipped with the RFID equipment and the software. 25 points of mail exchange among which there are transit nodes and departments of transportation of mail at the airports points of the international mail exchange, a number of the largest regional and trunk sorting centers - the Logistic Center Vnukovo, it is also necessary to equip.
In addition to supply of equipment and the software the RST-Invent company will carry out personnel training of FGUP Russian Post.
"Use of RFID technology will allow us to improve logistics of delivery of mailings, - Alexey Skatin, the deputy CEO of FGUP Russian Post emphasized. – It will increase quality of our services due to reduction and an accurate adherence to deadlines of delivery of mailings to receivers".
Start of the first stage is planned for the end of 2014.
Works within the project:
- Production and delivery of RFID tags for marking of control departures;
- Equipment of objects of a mail service specialized RFID equipment;
- Creation of the National center of monitoring;
- Integration into the International system of tracking of the mailings GMS STAR.
Project Results
The monitoring system constructed by engineers of RST-Invent works in the automatic mode therefore the acquired information about each section of passing of control departure is objective and exact. At such approach, influence of a human factor on the end result is excluded and the impartiality of drawing up reporting documentation is provided.
A system in the automatic mode performs monitoring of the movement of control letters that allows to define problem sections on all way of passing of the marked mailings, and, therefore, to increase efficiency of identification and elimination of origins of delays.
