Sheremetyevo International Airport at the end of May 2024 announced the purchase of domestic servers and data storage systems (DSS systems) for a total amount of 190.8 million rubles. The corresponding tenders were published on the public procurement website on May 23, 2024, and applications for participation are accepted until June 6, 2024. The results will be announced on June 19, 2024.
The purchase is divided into two separate tenders: 104.6 million rubles were allocated for DSS and 84.2 million rubles for servers. All equipment must comply with the register of Russian electronic products established by the Decree of the Government of Russia of July 10, 2019.
The technical documentation states that Sheremetyevo plans to purchase three different types of DSS. The first two types differ in the amount of disk space: 345 TB and 437 TB, respectively. All DSS require support for at least 600 drives and at least 256 GB of memory per controller. Drives must be a 12 GB / SSD SAS with 25 Gb/s port capacity and VLAN support.
For the third type of DSS, you must ensure simultaneous access to all data and the ability to replace controllers without interrupting access. The controller must support SSD caching and have SSD SAS 12 stores GB/s and NL-SAS 7200 rpm. The total amount of disk space is 1,200,000 GB for NL-SAS and 7,200 GB for SSD SAS.
The airport press service said that the purchased server equipment should be compatible ON with SpaceVM, VMmanager, zVirt, FreeBSD, and various versions (Linux Rosa Linux,,, Alt LinuxRed OS""). Astra Linux The servers will be equipped with two Xeon processorsIntel Gold 6240R with 24 cores, 48 threads and a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The amount of RAM will be at least 768 GB of DDR4 with a frequency of 3200 MHz, as well as two SSDs with a volume of 480 GB each.
According to the representative of Sheremetyevo Airport, the BIOS of the servers should have the functions of checking the integrity of its modules, support the preservation and restoration of profiles using USB drives, protect access to the control menu and synchronize time using the NTP protocol. All BIOS components must be registered in the Unified Register of Russian Computer Programs and Databases of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of Russia.[1]
