Severstal opened online store of metal rolling

In November, 2016 Severstal provided new customer service – electronic marketplace selling metal products. In online store it is going to provide more than 5000 positions of products. Clients will be able to create in it the orders, to define a delivery mode and to calculate its cost, to trace the goods delivery through a personal account. In a personal account it is also possible to create reports and to receive necessary documents.

Except basic functions of order placement, in shop the additional services allowing the client to select special delivery conditions, concerning packaging, marking and other aspects are available.

Severstal calculates that by 2018 100% of her Russian clients will use services of a personal account in online store

Products of Severstal can be purchased from a warehouse of distributive network or to order directly from the producer, having issued "under the order".

The main objective of customer service — to create advantages to the existing and potential consumers of products of Severstal due to cost reduction, providing new opportunities and acceleration of all business processes during all service cycle of clients.

Severstal expects that by 2018 100% of the Russian clients of the company will use services of a personal account, including order placement, tracking of their status, receiving financial information and other.

In 2018 Severstal is going to start the English-language version of online store and to make it available to clients from around the world.

The marketplace is created based on the solution for e-commerce of SAP Hybris Commerce and is based on the high-performance SAP HANA platform. The project was implemented by specialists of division of SAP Digital Business Services. SAP CIS says that in Russia it is the first online store in the metallurgical industry implemented on this solution.

The Chief information officer of Severstal Yury Shekhovtsov told[1] about plans to start the new platform of e-commerce [1] in October, 2015. He said that at the project interesting background: Severstal conducted a research – customer satisfaction level assessment, and many pointed to complexity of perception of information on a product as all its numerous characteristics were specified in the description.

According to Shekhovtsov, in 2015 the company worked on making the product description simple and available to understanding. Based on the new platform it was going to organize interaction both with corporate, and with private clients.
