2022: Implementation of the Sustainability Reserve Monitoring System
On January 20, 2023, a branch of SO UES JSC ODU of the Center announced that it had begun monitoring the maximum permissible flows (MIS) of active power using the domestic digital stability reserve monitoring system (SMZU) in the controlled section (set of power lines) Mikhailovskoye-2, which ensures the transfer of electric power to the Moscow energy system from large power plants of the Center's Joint Energy System.
The use of the SMPS technology will increase the degree of use of the throughput capacity of the electric network in the controlled section, consisting of three 500 kV power lines, by up to 100 MW without reducing the level of reliability of power supply to consumers.
SMZU technology has been consistently introduced in the United Energy System of the Center since 2018. As of January 2023, in the ODU of the Center, it is used for 11 controlled sections. The use of digital SMZU technology makes it possible to increase the degree of use of the throughput capacity of the grid infrastructure of the power association by up to 1000 MW, which is comparable to the capacity of the power unit of a nuclear power plant.
