Softline carried out cyber security SAM assessment to Samaraenergo

Softline announced in the spring of 2016 end of the SAM project according to the complex analysis of license compliance of the software of Microsoft set in Samaraenergo company, and maturity level assessment on core competencies of Cybersecurity. As a result the customer received the status report on IT infrastructure and the recommendation about optimization of ensuring cyber security.

PJSC Samaraenergo is power supply company of Central Volga area which provides with deliveries about 69% of the general power consumption of the Samara region. Among consumers of Samaraenergo more than 17 thousand organizations and the enterprises, and about 550 thousand population. In staff of the company - over 1000 people.

The main objectives facing experts of Softline within the SAM Cybersecurity project were:

• assessment of the software set on all PC park;
• the analysis of documents of title concerning software of Microsoft;
• identification of number of relevant licenses and the used software of Microsoft;
• development of recommendations about completions for respect for license purity of use of software of vendor;
• IT infrastructure assessment from the point of view of Cybersecurity;
• plan development - the road map on improvement of a status of Cybersecurity, including all necessary technical and license guidances and instructions.

During the project for carrying out the analysis of license compliance specialists used the solution Assessment and Planning Tool (MAP) recommended to Microsoft. Experts of Softline proinventarizirovat more than 700 PCs, conducted examination of software, estimated a current status of contracts for the software of Microsoft and also made verification of licenses with the actual credentials. After that recommendations about expense optimization on licensing taking into account specifics of IT infrastructure of Samaraenergo were developed.

Also the assessment on core competencies of a maturity of Cybersecurity was carried out. Specialists of Softline prepared reporting materials where complete approach to the strategy of security taking into account personnel, processes and technologies is implemented. But also, developed the plan which reflects recommendations about risk management and considers already unrolled technologies, the current security level and the strategy of echelon protection.
