On July 19, 2021, Sberbank announced the implementation of express payment support in transport - Express Transit - in the Kazan metro (Municipal Unitary Enterprise Metroelectrotrans in Kazan). Especially for this, all subway turnstiles were modernized, supporting the payment of travel by contactless bank cards.

Now iPhone owners can pay for travel using Apple Pay by simply attaching a smartphone to the turnstile: you do not need to confirm payment with a fingerprint (Touch ID), Face ID or password. Payment takes place instantly, even with a low battery charge ( 1-3%). As a result, the user spends less time paying for travel - and the capacity of turnstiles increases. In the future, this technology will appear in other cities.
