Sberbank selected "Yandex" for work with Big Data

"Yandex" became the consultant of Sberbank for solving of tasks, connected with processing and the analysis of big arrays of information. For cooperation on this direction the contract for the amount of 13.7 million rubles was signed.

In December, 2015 the project of the Russian Internet company Yandex Data Factory (YDF) which specializes in processing of Big Data (Big Data) was started the largest. Now "Yandex" will become the only consultant of the largest Russian bank in the questions connected with the analysis of big data. Such information contains in procurement documentation of credit institution.

However, in documents specific objectives in which "Yandex" will be engaged are not noted. In the published data abstractly it is announced that the partner company will hold consultations on the solution of business challenges which mean use of analytics of data bulks and also machine learning taking into account information from external sources.

The head of project office YDF Alexander Haytin noted that already now the company works on several projects for Sberbank, however it did not provide more detailed information. The first deputy chairman of Sberbank Lev Hasis reported that Big Data is very extensive and many-sided subject. At the moment the credit institution needs to carry out specific work for which "Yandex" has a unique competence, however in general Sberbank does not provide an exclusive in this direction only of one organization and is ready to cooperate with the different companies.

YDF was presented at the LeWeb exhibition in Paris which was held in December, 2014. The structure works in the direction which is based on processing of the data bulks which are transferred between two companies. Among clients of YDF there is a large number of the international organizations.
