2021: Implementation of P7-Office

On November 3, 2021, P7-Office announced that School No. 2083 had implemented the P7-Office solution.

At the beginning of 2021, the license for an online office product, which was used at the school earlier, ended. And since there was already experience using similar software, the P7-Office platform was chosen from the available offers on the market: the school was provided with a free license for 1,500 users. The decision to implement was made, and just in a week, the school's IT specialists coped with the implementation process without resorting to the help of third-party integrators.

The latest version of P7-Office was deployed, authorization was configured through Microsoft Active Directory using the LDAP protocol, which made it possible to access all intra-school services using a single authorization system, and by the beginning of the academic year, the P7-Office had already begun to work in "combat" mode. The system is deployed on its own school hardware server, and data is stored there. This ensures that the requirements for the protection of personal data and confidential information are met.

The platform for the system was a server solution based on Windows Server 2016, with the Intel Core i9-9900 CPU3.10GHz, 16 GB of RAM, a system SSD disk and an additional hard disk (HDD) to provide backup of user data. Copying is performed every day, additionally once a week - cumulative backup of all created and changed data.

There were no noticeable performance problems. Almost all the difficulties that we had to face during this implementation - more administrative than technical in nature: people who had not previously worked with this platform did not always want to learn something new. But as users gained experience, these issues lost relevance, "said Sergey Matveev, an engineer at GBOU School No. 2083 (d Moscow.).

As of November 2021, the system is used by the pedagogical and administrative composition of the institution. Student accounts are not yet created, since for the beginning it is necessary to work out schemes of work in administrative and pedagogical areas. Accounts for more than 600 employees are established in the system, of which more than 200 people actively use the platform: they started accounts for everyone without exception, including staff who do not use computer technology, for example, junior maintenance staff (building maintenance workers, assistant educators), who do not have to use the P7 Office in their work. But if necessary, any of these users can go into active mode and access the deployed and configured service.

In the previously used system, document collaboration was actively used, accordingly, this functionality had to be saved as basic. And he's at the P7 Office. Documents module is actively used - several users can work on the same document at the same time, and at the same time, in real time. It is very convenient that documents from Microsoft Office open without problems and without distorting the structure.

The Calendar module turned out to be an effective solution - there are many shared premises in the school buildings, such as, for example, sports halls, conference and assembly halls. They are used for a variety of reasons and directions, both in the educational process and in additional education or, for example, during media events. The functionality of the calendar helps to avoid overlaps in the use of such rooms so that at the same time different groups of people do not claim them. Any employee can open a calendar and see at what time a particular room is free, and, accordingly, through the person responsible, book it. Here, access rights are differentiated - the bulk of employees have read-only access, and those responsible have full access to all the functions of the module, within the framework of their related functions.
