2024: Using the Stream Adaptation application

Segezha Group is adapting new employees using the Stream Adaptation mobile application. The introduction of the digital service has become one of the HR tools that helped automate the onboarding process in the company. TalentTech (Severgroup TT) announced this on May 23, 2024.

As of May 2024, more than 19,000 people work in the group of companies. Some of them are occupied in offices, but most are working personnel working at production sites. Segezha Group has developed several adaptation programs focused on different categories of employees. For example, training and mentoring programs were specifically created for workers. So, the new employee works in production for the first month under the guidance of a mentor in order to get the necessary skills and knowledge.

Taking into account the expansion of the business and the increase in the number of Segezha Group enterprises in 2022, they turned to the Russian provider of HR-tech solutions - the Potok company. It was decided to use the Flow Adaptation application to quickly immerse new employees in work and create an interactive path of acquaintance with the company and team. The application provides tasks, tests and information for adaptation, which contributes to a quick acquaintance with the company. As of May 2024, the adaptation process in the mobile application is carried out by employees from 9 locations: engineering and technical personnel and specialists working at enterprises.

During the project, the Segezha Group HR specialists created adaptation tracks - stages that beginners in the application go through. At each stage, information about the company, documents, charters and rules, as well as multimedia files, based on the specifics of specific factories and specialties, appears.

In the future, the company decided to reduce the number of blocks in the Stream Adaptation track. This made it possible to more accurately reflect the specifics of the company and include current data and processes. In addition, the holding revised the track's content, including Tone of voice and accompanying pictures and multimedia.

A unique track has been created for work vacancies, where content is selected individually for each enterprise, taking into account its features and history.

Gamification in employee adaptation effectively motivates newcomers to get to know the company better through completing levels in the application. The "Write HR" function was also implemented, where after each task an SOS button is available to employees for operational assistance and support from an HR specialist.

Work with adaptation in the company lasts 2 years. For better adaptation, Segezha Group complements the application with other tools such as welcome-pack, welcome-trainings, individual work plans, paper format of the Novice Guide.

As a result, Segezha Group achieved the following indicators:

  • Since the launch of the project, 993 employees have passed through the Stream Adaptation application, of which 77 people are still undergoing adaptation, since they have not completed their probation period;
  • Already 472 employees (52%) have successfully completed the adaptation period.
