Sibur launched commercial freight transportation on electric cars without drivers. For this, the Russian oil and gas chemical holding concluded an agreement with EvoCargo. The press service of the latter announced this at the end of February 2024.

The Evocargo N1 unmanned electric car began to be used on the territory of Tomskneftekhim (Sibur's subsidiary), which is engaged in the production of polypropylene and high-pressure polyethylene for medicine, construction, agriculture, etc. A self-driving truck carries polymers along a route created on the basis of a digital map of the object.

As part of the project, a digital twin of the territory through which the robomobile runs has been created. It is noted that the route is being built taking into account road signs and markings, pedestrian crossings, sidewalks and other infrastructure features. The carrying capacity of the machine is declared at the level of 2 tons, the range is up to 200 km. For safe transportation of cargo, Evocargo N1 is equipped with a special covered body, which is made to protect polymers from heat and moisture.

Under the terms of the contract, EvoCargo will also provide Tomskneftekhim with maintenance and tracking services for the serviceable operation of electric trucks. Turnkey service improves the efficiency of logistics operations by increasing the speed of transportation and reducing downtime during loading and unloading operations, the company said.
