2022: IT Infrastructure Optimization

Softline On July 8, 2022, the provider of solutions and services announced the optimization IT infrastructures of TK Progress LLC (brand "") using Semishagoff server equipment provided by model. HaaS

The company "TK Progress" faced the problem of lack of high-performance resources. The equipment on which the hardware-demanding databases were located became noticeably worse at handling loads, especially at peak times. This is due to both the amount of data and software updates, which each time made more and more serious demands on the performance of the equipment. It was necessary to unload the infrastructure by connecting a more powerful solution.

To solve the problem, Softline offered the customer the Hardware as a service (HaaS) model, that is, "equipment as a service." Such a service is an alternative to buying equipment and is a buy-to-let server rental. This solution allowed the client to get expensive hardware without capital expenditures.

The server equipment was made "on order," it has non-typical parameters and is able to cope with the high loads faced by the client. Despite the logistical problems that exist in the market, Softline was able to provide the service in accordance with the promised deadlines.

In the process of using the equipment, the performance that we expected was obtained. Due to the HaaS model, we also got a useful economic effect: possible capital expenditures were replaced by operational ones. This allows us to allocate the released budget for the development of IT infrastructure in other areas and continue the digital transformation of the company in the most convenient time for us, - noted in "TK Progress."

IT in retail and in many other areas is not a specialized business asset, so we provide a service for those customers for whom significant one-time equipment costs may be undesirable. It is also worth emphasizing that customers receive servers according to the service model, and this is not the same as a leasing agreement with a bank. The customer does not use credit funds, namely receives a service from Softline. In addition, if the client who received the equipment according to the HaaS model needs technical support for the infrastructure, Softline has all the necessary competencies and is ready to provide it, "concluded Vladimir Kalin, head of the data center services department in the Northwestern Federal District at Softline.
