Content

The Severstal Gold management company transferred six Kazakhstan enterprises to the 1C 8 ERP platform. Severstal Gold purchased assets in Kazakhstan (three production, two servicing and the trading company) recently. The management company has the enterprises also in Russia and the Western Africa, taking the second place on gold mining among the Russian companies.

Project Task

The main task of the ERP project was to put control of the Kazakhstan block as the purchased assets had separate management systems in order and did not support up to standard accounting, inventory management, personnel and a financial part. As the head of the ERP project from management company Maxim Ravba told TAdviser, before start of upgrade of the accounting system stood on all enterprises "1C 7", but it was very strongly loaded.

Besides, "seven" was not supported from the specialized companies any more in view of the fact that periodically was improved under users by own forces (both reports, and distribution methods, business – processes). "So a system passed into discharge of a local system not capable to adapt quickly to change of the external environment. Our programmers though skillfully managed it, but all this more aggravated a situation and loaded a system in view of what processes became not transient (cost value till 8 o'clock)", - he told.

These problems belong more to the main enterprise – "Reddened". Also at each enterprise the reference books were used. In view of uniform asset management and also an effective objective on reduction of terms of closing – such situation was not admissible, noted Ravba. Therefore the decision to unify all processes and information on which they are based, and to make some kind of uniform accounting center (at the moment in development process of structure, the purposes and tasks) based on "1C 8" at all Kazakhstan enterprises was made.

System Selection

The ERP platform on replacement selected price/quality as the project started during economically difficult period on an optimal ratio. Besides, at many enterprises of a division it was already successfully used "1C 8" therefore experience with a system also played a role. The 1C Rating company was engaged in implementation of the ERP system. For project implementation the "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management for Kazakhstan" configuration was selected.

Project Results

In a new ERP system all main business processes are automated: management, production, purchases, stocks, accounting and tax accounting, personnel records and so on. Now a system works in the mode of commercial operation, 68 jobs are automated.

In a project deliverable it was succeeded to provide accounting in all companies according to uniform methodology. One more result which is especially noted by management company – reduction of terms of closing of the period on group of the Kazakhstan companies, within the Fast Close program (Fast closing) which is carried out on holding. According to Maxim Ravba, all this together with accurately organized business processes in a system allowed to reduce terms of submission of reports on group to management company by two days. Investments into the project of the party do not open.
