Softline estimated security of IT infrastructure and level of management of program assets at Shininvest

On November 7, 2018 Softline reported that it estimated security of IT infrastructure and level of management of program assets at Shininvest. The customer will be able to use the recommendations of experts for improvement of mechanisms of protection against cyberthreats.

Shininvest was required to create the broad picture of IT infrastructure and to reveal the business applications requiring optimization for increase in level of cyber security.

In total the project included 39 servers Windows Server, 29 workstations under management OS Windows and 172 thin clients Linux. Experts suggested the customer to update outdated operating systems of Windows which are used in work as the lack of crucial updates bears in itself serious risks security. For management of a server framework the command of Softline recommended to consider the solution Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) which allows to perform more effective loading of the physical systems and helps administrators to accompany systems during all lifecycle. As connection to corporate infrastructure is possible through VPN, specialists of Softline suggested Shininvest company to use Azure Multifactor Authentication that will lead to due access audit to corporate systems.

We told the customer about pluses of transfer of loadings in a cloud and advised to take advantage of hybrid use of Azure in connection with high loading of the server hardware. At the expense of the distributed payments such option is the most economic and also allows to organize scalable and failsafe hybrid infrastructure. Choosing a Solution

Due to the depreciation of the equipment and need of protection of business against accidents and failures of IT infrastructure and also for the purpose of cost optimization, specialists Shininvest made the decision on reservation of a part of information services in "cloud". The contractor on the project on a competitive basis selected Softline group which has experience of successful cooperation with the customer in providing cloud solutions.

During the project placement of reserve DPC of the customer on the IaaS model in the Moscow data center was implemented. Specialists Shininvest together with engineers of ActiveCloud by Softline quickly adjusted functioning of geographically remote virtual DPC in data center of the class Tier-3 and synchronization of data in real time using Double-Take software is configured. As a result the customer received the active, easily scalable reserve DPC ready at any time to accept serious loadings.

This solution allowed to reduce significantly the customer's costs for the organization of own reserve platform as need for tenancy, purchase of the additional computing and communication hardware and also its warranty service disappeared.
