2025: Implementation of "1C:MDM"

IBS, together with the Slavyansk ECO team, implemented a comprehensive project for the company to transform regulatory reference information (NSI) and implement the 1C: MDM master data management solution. IBS announced this on March 12, 2025.

The Slavyansk ECO Group of Companies is engaged in the production and sale of petroleum products in the Russian and international markets. The key enterprise is the Slavic Oil Refinery, which is located in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Krasnodar Territory.

The need to transform the NSI arose as a result of the growth of the company. To solve this problem, it was necessary to streamline processes, develop regulations and methodology, as well as introduce an NSI control automation tool - the 1C: MDM system. The IBS and Slavyansk IVF groups have joined forces to achieve their goals.

The project began in November 2023 and was carried out in stages. In the first phase, the project team developed a normalization methodology, classifier, and templates for material and technical resource records. This work was carried out in close cooperation with the business units of Slavyansk ECO. The project team conducted a series of interviews to collect requirements for reference books, agreed on a classifier and templates with Slavyansk IVF divisions.

The task of the second stage was to deploy and configure the 1C: MDM system. At the third stage, an NSI competence center was formed: regulatory documentation was developed and training was conducted. Slavyansk IVF independently performed the normalization of the NSI, IBS supported and consulted in this process. The work was completed in the fall of 2024.

{{quote 'author=said Evgeny Antropov, Director of IBS Master Data Management.|This project was interesting due to its complex nature. It covered all stages - from the development of the methodology to the normalization of the NSI. It is important that the detail of the templates was agreed with the business. This approach, in our experience, significantly increases the efficiency of work. When choosing a system for managing master data, they decided to implement a boxed version of "1C:MDM" instead of refining the current solutions. This made it possible to launch the system in a short time. A distinctive feature of the project was also the fact that the Slavyansk ECO company itself was engaged in normalization. We transferred all the necessary competencies and supervised the process, responsible for the quality of the developed methods and templates,}

The NSI transformation project has become an important part of our large initiative to digitally transform the company. By working together with IBS, we were able to build effective management of regulatory reference information, centralize NSI facilities and optimize integration flows. This allowed us to create a single reference information for various information systems. Moreover, we did not stop there: the 1C:MDM system was integrated with generative AI. This opens up huge prospects for the automation of NSI management processes and a significant increase in their efficiency in the future,
noted Peter Shonkin, director of digital transformation "Slavyansk IVF."
