On March 4, 2014 it became known of the implementation project of the specialized information system eSOMS implemented on the Smolensk NPP since 2011 with the assistance of Ventyx An ABB company.
Project Tasks
At the end of 2010 the Rosenergoatom Concern makes the decision to implement the information system eSOMS promoting support of operation of nuclear power stations.
As pilot section the Smolensk NPP offered itself. The concern supported this initiative and already in the first quarter 2011 started works.
Project Progress
Within three years a system is localized, adapted, the operation personnel of SAES is prepared.
Project Results
For March 4, 2014 the information system works in the test mode on one of sections of the Smolensk NPP, in April, 2014 the beginning of full operation of a system is planned.
"We were convinced that the technical solutions implemented on the Smolensk NPP completely conform to all requirements of the existing documentation which defines work of operation personnel — Oleg Aydemirov, the associate director of department on operation of the NPP with VVER reactors of Roseenergoatom concern noted. — Main advantages which we will get at system implementation — increase in security and reliability of operation which will be reached due to maintaining documentation in electronic form, improvement of quality of information on a condition of equipment and efficiency of its receiving. Besides, a system will promote reduction of terms of repair of the equipment due to identification of deviations at early stages".
Project Continuation
On July 21, 2014 the Ventyx company announced end the normal mode of operation of a system on the 3rd power unit of the station. eSOMS helps operation personnel qualitatively and to unmistakably perform the work regarding activity documentation, increasing these security of all power complex.
In plans of partners until the end of 2014 - to connect power units of the Smolensk NPP to system 1 and 2.
