On a planning stage of the next research project, the staff of the Southern Ural state medical university revealed need of use of video analytics for it. Thus the data obtained using the detector of the analysis of the behavior developed by Synes company became the base for experiments.

The YuUGMU project investigates influence of post-traumatic stressful frustration on biochemical indicators of a brain. Already today it becomes clear that its results will make the significant contribution to studying of mechanisms of biochemical strategy of adaptation.

The essence of the experiments made by employees YuUGMU consists in influence by different types of a stress on experimental animals then the assessment of their biochemical and behavioural indicators is carried out. An animal (a white rat) place in novel to it space (arena) from which the fencing wall does not allow to be selected by it. The new environment activates at an animal difficult enrollment of reactions which includes desire to defend and interest in a research of the new territory.

All course of an experiment registers in the video camera then separate fragments of video, are processed using the CasRetail program from Synes company. As a result the image of the trajectory of the movement of an animal characterizing his behavior and a status turns out.

Use of video tracking for assessment of behavioural indicators yields the following results:

1. visualization of a track. In other words – automatic creation of a trajectory of the movement of an animal on the arena;

2. a possibility of assessment of mobility of an experimental animal in different zones of the arena;

3. data for the numerous indicators characterizing movement of an animal (speed of movement, a stop, tortuosity of a way, etc.);

4. increase in objectivity of registration of behavior.

Cooperation of Synes and Southern Ural state medical university shows that the video analytics can successfully be applied not only in the field of security or retail, but also in the scientific sphere.
