TVT shopping Mall implements the solution of management of networks

The IT company executed the Russia's first system implementation of management of network infrastructure based on the solution Cable-Scout developed by JO Software Engineering company.

During the existence in TVT the developed cable and network infrastructure was created. At the same time the subscriber base of the company reached that critical level when to manage cable economy in the manual mode, without application of special information systems, became impracticable. It was required to increase controllability of network, to increase efficiency of the capital investments and also to reduce time of mitigation of consequences of accidents and to increase the speed of connection of new users.

At the beginning of 2011 the management of JSC TVT shopping Mall made the decision to implement the professional system of documentation and administration of cable economy for effective condition monitoring of network and object management of telecommunication infrastructure.

After studying of different technical solutions the system of electronic documentation of telecommunication network Cable-Scout offered by IT company was selected.

Solution

The complex project of system deployment is implemented in a pilot zone of regional broadcasting company "TVT". A system provides control of the actual configuration of telecommunication network, providing to employees up-to-date information about lines and connections and also an opportunity to create tasks for making changes in a cable system and to document them in electronic form.

Within half a year specialists of IT unrolled a system. The complex of works covered more than 70 nodes of network infrastructure of TVT and included Cable-Scout software implementation, personnel training of the customer, entering into uniform electronic base of several honeycombs thousands of separate data on networks of telephony, data transmission, cable television and linearly - cable constructions. Also specialists of IT adapted the program for requirements of the customer and entered to it an electronic cartographic basis. It allowed to display in a system up-to-date information about arrangement of cables, the connected objects, nodes with the equipment, about accomplishment of cable distributing in buildings.

Results

System implementation of Cable-Scout allowed to get rid of the sources of accounting of telecommunication networks (the paper schemes, tables, these several isolated programs and a DB) which are under authority of different services separated and not connected among themselves and to transfer all credentials to a single platform. Existence of such system allows to pass to the centralized management model with objects at the level of all company in general and to flexibly plan development of network.

"The new system of electronic documentation and administration of telecommunication infrastructure allows to increase significantly controllability of network and to control its status by different parameters. Now literally one click it is possible to obtain data which were simply unavailable to personnel and management of the company earlier: for example, the real number of the switches and nodes working or requiring replacement, the laid kilometers of cables and their location.
