On April 18, 2017 the Spirit DSP company announced implementation of the program TeamSpirit Mobile Video Call SDK engine as the platform for service "WiFi-calls" of the telecom operator of Tele2.
Project Results
Having started technology for communication for IP networks, Tele2 provided to subscribers service "WiFi-calls".
Service "WiFi-calls" (voice transmission and text messages on Wi-fi network) is implemented on the TeamSpirit Mobile Video Call SDK platform which, in turn, is integrated into the platform of the American company Mitel (Mavenir).
Now subscribers of Tele2 can estimate quality of voice calls where they were. Earlier our client of Mitel (Mavenir) refused use of WebRTC Open Source because of low quality and lack of support from Google, and passed to mobile SPIRIT engines. The fundamental difference of Wi-fi Calling from the existing IP-telefonii services that the call is performed on basic network of the mobile operator and is an ordinary telephone call from the mobile number that is convenient for subscribers, saves their loyalty, helps traditional telecom operators to compete with popular messengers with function of calls (Skype, WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, Facebook Messenger and so forth) that is crucial for telecom operators in the conditions of permanent reduction of use of traditional GSM calls to advantage of messengers. The service "WiFi-calls" works on smartphones running operating systems iOS and Android. Tele2 application is available to loading in shops App Store and Google Play.
