Asteros developed the concept on data management for Gazprom Neft

The Asteros group announced in May, 2016 project completion of development of the concept on data management and the road map of its implementation for Gazprom Neft. The created concept forms at the same time methodological basis for development of the direction and the instrument of broadcasting to employees of the principles of work with information. The Atrinity company entering into the Asteros group acted as the general contractor of the project.

The need for increase in effective management of data was created in the project progress on implementation and development of information systems, in particular, on creation of the corporate data warehouse and creation of the management reporting.

The project team was faced by a task to create a basis for development of data management of Gazprom Neft – to define a target status, strategic vision and the road map of development of this direction. When developing the concept the best experience of the international vertically integrated oil companies was used for Gazprom Neft. So, the IPL company from Great Britain specializing in data management in oil and gas and other industries acted as the partner of Atrinity. In a complex the international methodology of DAMA (DMBoK 2009) used in the project allowed to consider the explored area.

As a result in 10 months the target organizational and role and process model, technology architecture of data management systems is developed, discrepancies between a target and current status are analyzed. In addition, approach to formation of a corporate data model was developed, the reference data model adapted for use in Gazprom Neft is created. In end of a cycle of works intermediate options of a way of transition to a target status were offered.

The carried-out analysis of IT strategy of Gazprom Neft and the planned IT projects laid the foundation for integration of activity on improvement of process of management of data in a vista shot of development of the company. The direction of the integrated and available data was included in the IT strategy of the company till 2020 as one of primary subjects.

On the next stage broadcast of the developed principles and rules and also the subsequent employee involvement of business divisions in a data management subject is planned. Further development of the project assumes implementation of the developed concept with separate focus on obtaining advantages to business.

Since 2011 the Asteros group implemented for Gazprom Neft more than 25 projects in the field of management consulting and in implementation of difficult IT systems.
