The Omsk state technical university held open auction on delivery of a complex of planetary scanning. The Prosoft — the PC company (ELAR corporation) became the winner. The digitized editions will be used in educational processes of higher education institution.
The new complex of planetary scanning "Elar Planskan" will be set to A2.B-3P in scientific library of OMGTU in December, 2011. The new equipment will allow to create electronic copies of books a format to A2, including editions with a dense back and incomplete disclosure, and the unique lighting system will give the chance to scan also old books.
Work on identification in fund of higher education institution library of rare and valuable editions is carried out since 2005. Now the number of fund of library is 1300 thousand units of storage. It is educational, scientific, art, foreign literature, the specifications and technical documentation, theses and abstracts, domestic and foreign periodicals, abstract magazines.
