On August 11, 2020 the Russian company "Local Roots" specializing in cultivation of salad, greens and spicy herbs on vertical farms announced implementation of technology of the Russian-Israeli agrotechnical-startup of Fermata.
Thanks to a new solution "Local roots" automated cultivation of a basil. The Fermata system estimates growth and incidence of plants at an early stage and also predicts a gain of green material. The sensors installed in greenhouses collect data, and the artificial intelligence analyzes them and estimates a condition of plants. At the expense of it, according to developers, it is possible to save additional 20% of a harvest.
Thanks to this project "Local Roots" are going to increase harvest volume by 15%, including for Vkusvill network with which the company cooperates. Besides, a new system, as expected, will cut down expenses on compensation to 30%.

"Local roots" began to use Fermata technology on a vertical farm in Moscow. In case of recognition of this project successful it will be distributed to all other plantations of the company.
Fermata began cooperation with "Local roots" several months later after attraction of $3.7 million investments from Massa Innovations and group of private investors. The startup decided to spend the received funds for development of the operating technologies and scaling of a product for field cultures.[1]
