On October 6, 2021, it became known about an agreement concluded by the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant (PTZ) and the developer of artificial intelligence systems for robotic agricultural machinery Cognitive Pilot. Under the terms of the agreement, the largest Russian producer of energy-saturated tractors will supply equipment controlled by the AI-autopilot Cognitive Agro Pilot.
According to RBC, we are talking about the first mass production of tractors for mass commercial use in Russia. The project is implemented in the format of a classic OEM contract (original equipment manufacturer - manufacturer of its own equipment), which provides for the sale to users of a basic device (Kirovets K-7M tractor) complete with an additional solution (Cognitive Agro Pilot), which expands its functionality. Mutual settlement between the manufacturer and the developer of the additional solution in this case is carried out depending on the volume of the batch of joint products.
It is assumed that Russian tractors with autopilot will cost from 8 to 12 million rubles, which is more than twice as profitable compared to less functional solutions of foreign competitors, the cost of which lies in the range from 35 to 50 million rubles.
A robotic rocket with the first version of the Cognitive Agro Pilot, installed on PTZ equipment by October 2021, is able to move along the trajectory in autonomous mode with automatic control of optimal speed, transmission parameters, slip and engine load, stop before obstacles, and work in conditions of insufficient visibility.
Deliveries of tractors with autopilot will begin after the completion of their tests by the end of October 2021. First, the first batch of 10-20 cars will be released, and the large-scale Kirovets tractors K-7M with an autopilot system is planned to begin in February 2022.[1]
