UEC-STAR (Business Studio)

The priority direction for providing the specified requirements at the enterprise selected automation as one of the most widespread methods of increase in efficiency of business processes of the company. The management of the enterprise set the task of formation of a common information space and creation of new ASUP on replacement of outdated ASUP of development of the 70-80th of the last century. The purposes of implementation were also caused by absence:

• single databases of the normative reference documentation;
• end-to-end automated system of registration of the course of production processes;
• single system of assessment of extent of use of the main consumed resources (work, the equipment, materials, energy);
• ACS of shop level.

From the ERP systems presented at the market the enterprise in 2014 selected a domestic system which met criteria of sufficiency of functionality for the solution of assigned tasks.

For ensuring the best compliance of the implemented ERP system to the business processes (BP) of JSC UEC-STAR the decision on preliminary modeling of the reorganized processes and creation of the Business model of the enterprise since systematization of knowledge of the enterprise and its business processes in an evident graphic form is most convenient for analytical information processing was made. The model should reflect structure of business processes, parts of their accomplishment and the sequence of document flow. The model in fact is a basis for review of real processes at the enterprise and functionality of the implemented ERP system.

Due to the size and complexity of the enterprise the decision was made that in the most effective way of creation, the analysis and maintenance in current status of the Business model of the enterprise use of a specialized software is. It was reasonably supposed that it will allow with smaller efforts with higher quality to analyze business processes for identification of bottlenecks and their further improvement.

According to the results of the analysis of the most widespread tools for modeling of a business enterprise architecture, it was revealed that JSC UEC-STAR, most suitable for the purposes, is the system of domestic development Business Studio. This system allows to construct as complex hierarchical model of activity of the company, and to describe separate processes, to plan their automation. The big role when choosing a system was played by its functionality which allows to solve effectively following relevant for our enterprise at a stage of creation of a task by new ASUP:

• formation of descriptions of business processes;
• formation of the regulating documentation and its distribution among employees;
• formation of the technical specifications (TS) and support of implementation of the information systems (IS).

From use of a system of business simulation at the enterprise certain effects, such as decrease in labor input on formation of terms of reference on ERP system completions, i.e. reduction of the implemented ERP system in compliance with requirements of the enterprise were expected.
