2022: Introduction of Axelot TMS X4
On July 14, 2022, AXELOT announced that Umay Group, the largest FMCG operator in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, has automated logistics using AXELOT TMS X4.
According to the company, the key logistics task for a large trading network is the regularity and timeliness of deliveries. To solve this problem, "Think Group" helps their own warehouses and their own fleet.
Automation of warehouse logistics "Umai Group" based on the AXELOT WMS X5 system was just the first step towards the company's comprehensive automation and modernization of logistics. The results of the first project showed a stable increase in the efficiency of the warehouse, so the management of Umai Group, together with AXELOT specialists, began work on the implementation of AXELOT TMS X4 to automate the management of their own fleet.
The goals of automation were to increase the speed of flight planning and the efficiency of using its own fleet. The company needed tools to calculate the cost of delivery for each request. It was also important to minimize the impact of the human factor and, in particular, to increase the discipline of employees in working with accompanying documentation.
The traditional route at Umai Group is as follows: the car leaves the central office, which at the same time serves as a garage, then it goes to the warehouse where the goods are loaded, then delivers the products to the outlets and at the end returns back to the garage, i.e. to the central office. Every day, the drivers of the Roslogist RC unit, whose fleet is already in the TMS circuit, serve about fifteen markets, about five of them intercity.
Before the introduction of TMS, the next day's flights were planned late the night before. The responsible employee in planning relied only on personal experience and knowledge of the city, the number of pallets and their IOP were not taken into account. The fact that the goods do not fit into the car became known directly when loading the goods in stock. Records of transport, spare parts, equipment and repairs performed were kept in Excel tables.
There was a problem with the return of documents by drivers - they simply forgot them in the car, took them home and did not return them after the weekend.
Each driver fills out a card once a month, where he indicates which stores he traveled during the period. On the basis of this timesheet, the unit salary of drivers is calculated. With the introduction of AXELOT TMS X4, OO Umay Group smoothly switches to digitalization of these calculations.
The integration of AXELOT TMS into the previously created information loop from AXELOT WMS and the customer's ERP system made it possible to implement the functionality of flight planning taking into account the division of cargo items from one request into different flights. The integration of all systems was carried out using the DATAREON ESB data bus.
AXELOT TMS X4 has two ways to accept applications: manually and automatically. When making a manual request, the operator can enter all the necessary data into the system directly. The automatic process begins in ERP with the preparation of a delivery request, continues in WMS in the form of a cargo request, and is eventually submitted to TMS as a transport request.
The introduction of AXELOT TMS made it possible to optimize the flight planning process. Flights "for tomorrow" are scheduled by the logist every day at 17: 00-18: 00 after receiving all orders from WMS. Automatic scheduling of routes by time is up to 40 minutes.
TMS, taking into account the number of pallets and high-temperature cargo, delivery time windows, makes the optimal route for each flight. If necessary, AXELOT TMS can split cargo items from one order on different flights. The system analyzes the high-temperature load and compares them with the capacity of the machine. The delivery requisition can be adjusted several times depending on the order quantity. The division of cargo items allows you to avoid the situation when part of the product planned for delivery remains in stock, because it did not fit into the vehicle.
Employees began to maintain all economic, transport and repair records at AXELOT TMS, which greatly facilitated the work of the mechanic and the garage manager. The relevance and accuracy of data on actual fleet maintenance costs has changed.
With the help of the functionality for returning documents, drivers have access to information about which papers they must hand over and in what time frame. For additional control when receiving and submitting documents, drivers must take photos through the Mobile Client. So that the situation with the non-return of documents does not repeat in time, invoice arrears are now reflected in the wages of drivers.
Satellite monitoring provides the ability to track all vehicle movements. Drivers report on the progress of delivery using a mobile application, including sending photos in case of certain problems at the point of the route, recording the reception and transfer of documents and noting delays in the journey. During the testing of the mobile client, a TMS logist and consultant went on the flight with the drivers.
AXELOT TMS makes it possible to calculate the planned piecework wages of drivers, on the basis of which the head of the auto farm calculates the actual wages. On average, for July 2022, this process takes 2 hours, while before automation, it took only 5 days to collect and calculate, and only after that did the accounting department receive documents to pay employees. An identifier with the cost of each receiving address was also added to the tariff key figures that affect the amount of payment.
Now the logistics of "Umai Group" is fully ready for an increase in the load, which is associated with plans to expand the trading network. Comprehensive optimization of logistics processes helped the company reduce logistics costs and fully concentrate on the development of its business.
