JSB Ural FD upgrades virtual IT infrastructure and implements solutions of corporate communications

The Softline company completed the full-scale project on system deployment of the joint communications on the basis of Microsoft Lync Server 2013 and also upgrades of virtual infrastructure on the VMware vSphere platform for JSB Ural FD, the press service of the company reported on June 18, 2013.

Approach

Need for upgrade of IT infrastructure arose owing to quickly changing conditions of business demanding from internal services of a bigger flexibility and reliability. The current IT landscape ceased to meet quality requirements of service of business needs of bank. With respect thereto the management "the Urals FD" set the task: to carry out updating of the systems of server virtualization and terminal access to a short time, without their stop, to solve the problems existing in work of these systems.

Besides, it was required to simplify and accelerate processes of interaction of employees of the bank at the expense of system implementation of the joint communications. In particular, the customer needs to hold meetings, online training of employees of the bank from remote divisions and other collective actions, using a format of audio-and video conferences, reducing transportation and traveling costs.

The Softline company became the contractor of the project.

Job

"Providing between removed specialists of high speed of the communication implemented due to use of the systems of audio-and video conferences, integration of service of instant and voice messages, e-mail was a main objective of implementation and adaptation of Microsoft Lync Server 2013. The possibility of use of functionality of carrying out audio-and video conferences from mobile devices and tablet PCs was also interesting. Within the project integration of the Lync system with service of e-mail Microsoft Exchange 2010 was made", - Dmitry Nagovitsyn, the head of the Center of solutions of Softline company told.

Result

According to the results of system implementation of the joint communications the bank received the tool increasing efficiency of interaction of employees.

Within upgrade of infrastructure "the Urals FD" received the updated complex of virtualization VMware vSphere, including the module of ensuring disaster tolerance of VMware Site Recovery Manager. All applied tasks of the customer are successfully transferred to the new hardware-software platform without stopping works of users.

"Thanks to the carried-out upgrade of a complex of virtualization the Urals FD bank received productive and reliable, easily scalable, disaster-proof platform for business applications. Performance of a complex increased by 3.5 times, costs for maintenance due to consolidation decreased by 1.5 times, and time of deployment of servers for new applications was significantly reduced", - Vladimir Meledin, the CIO of JSC JSB JSB Ural FD noted.
