The Digia company completed in the summer of 2012 an implementation project of a system of video analytics on the Verint Nextiva VBI platform in confectionery shop "Saint Eclair". Thanks to a new solution, the management will be able to optimize the calculation of goods on show-windows, to increase an average bill and to increase loyalty of buyers.
"Saint Eclair" combines in himself shop where it is possible to purchase different sorts of weighed out tea, and the candy store offering to visitors the wide range of tea and desserts.
The project implemented by specialists of the Russian office Digia together with the technology partner, Verint Systems Inc company included implementation of a hardware and software system of video analytics on the Verint Nextiva VBI platform. This solution allows retail networks to use around the world video surveillance systems for the purpose of studying of features of movement of buyers on shop and obtaining information on where why and as they purchase goods. It is possible to define time which buyers spend in each of departments of shop, to reveal "hot" and "cold" zones and also to estimate the number of people who came with the purpose to purchase goods by solutions of Nextiva. Also this solution helps to define quickly goods and stands which interest buyers most of all, to draw attention to not really noticeable zones. Detailed information which is provided by the solutions Nextiva allows to place more effectively goods, to estimate effectiveness of advertizing campaigns and to analyze behavior of buyers.
The first confectionery "Saint Eclair" who began to use the video analytical solution occupies the space of 100 sq.m. From them about 20 occupies shop, the rest is given to a candy store. Visitors can try the sort of tea which interested them and if it was pleasant, to purchase by weight; come purposefully to a candy store or as the buyer of shop. The video cameras installed indoors allow to analyze behavior of all buyer categories. A program part of a system allows to obtain information on the exact number of the visitors who came into shop with detailing on shop hours and days of the week; it is evident to see distribution of buyers between zones of shop and cafe; determine trajectories of movement of visitors by a trading floor; define the most popular show-windows with tea and coffee on the basis of the "hot" and "cold" zones determined by duration of stay of buyers in the estimated zone; calculate the average time of stay of visitors of cafe at the tables.
All this helps to reveal goods and stands which interest buyers most of all, to draw attention of analysts of management company to not really noticeable zones of the calculation, to add to the menu of cafe of a sort of tea which with the greatest share of probability visitors of a candy store, and another will want to try.
