Vostoktsement completed audit of program assets

On February 15, 2017 the Softline company announced project completion of the complex analysis of use of the software of Microsoft in Vostoktsement company.

Project Tasks

The beginning of the SAM Baseline project is caused by requirement of the company for the organization of effective management of IT resources. The IT partner selected Softline company.

Project Progress

Project works covered 11 legal entities and 1 thousand desktops. Experts of Softline analyzed all available corporate schemes of licensing and channels of acquisition of software Microsoft of the customer: Open License, Select Plus, Enterprise taking into account their features and restrictions. More than 50 corporate agreements on purchase and use of software products are totally revealed.

Jointly with the customer's specialists specialists of the contractor carried out inventory of IT infrastructure, comparing data on the purchased licenses and actually an installed software. Based on work provided the report and recommendations about management of IT assets.

Project Results

It is recommended to Vostoktsement company to carry out regular reconciliation of licenses of the used software. As the management tool infrastructure of Softline offered a packet of the products Microsoft System Center which server and client licenses are in IT assets.

The scheme of licensing proceeding from structural features of the company and business challenges is offered the customer.

For such large company with a large number of affiliates and difficult IT infrastructure as Vostoktsement is required the program of corporate licensing – Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA). It is termless and provides creation of several accounts for purchases to each geographically distributed division. In the long term it will simplify purchase of licenses.
