Russian electronics distributor S3 has introduced warehouse robots that independently transfer cargo to each other

Customers: Single Source Suppliers (S3)

Logistics and Distribution

Contractors: Corus Consulting

Project date: 2025/07

The company S3 , together with GC "," Corus Consulting is launching a pilot project to robotize warehouse processes. The introduction of pallet transport robots will increase productivity on the 70%, reduce errors, reduce staff costs and ensure 24-hour work. The press service of Korus Consulting told about this at the end of July 2025.

Robots are integrated with WMS, which allows the system to automatically distribute tasks and control their execution. In the event of a failure, the cargo is transferred to another robot, minimizing downtime. Each robot processes up to 10 pallets per hour, moves loads up to 700 kg and up to 1.7 m high, working on routes over 600 meters. After launch, they will provide 70% of pallet movements, significantly reducing the impact of the human factor.

Previously, companies have already implemented a warehouse automation project with WMS, which accelerated the processing of orders. Now their goal is to scale robotization to other processes to create a fully automated warehouse.

The control system automatically distributes tasks between robots and monitors operations. In the event of a breakdown or delay, one robot can transfer the load to another, which ensures uninterrupted operation of the warehouse. All possible errors are recorded at the level of the robot itself, the robot control system and WMS.

For a long time, robotization remained a fashionable trend: prototypes were used in many industries, there were test launches, but there were no large-scale and successful projects that would prove its effectiveness. Today the situation is changing. Advanced companies such as S3 are the first to introduce these technologies and show that robotization is not about the future, but about real solutions for business now, "said Ivan Smirnov, an expert at Korus Consulting Group.

It is planned that during 2025 the project will be expanded to other areas of the S3 warehouse.[1]
