2020: Implementation of WMS TopLog
Toplog specialists have implemented a project to automate the warehouse of the Wheeler Darom online store, a Russian network of tire centers. The WMS TopLog solution was introduced at the warehouse complex in Naberezhnye Chelny. This was announced by Toplog on April 20, 2021.
The total area of the customer's 24-hour warehouse as of April 2021 is 60,000 sq.m. The number of placed assortment (auto, motor and truck tires and wheels) reaches 50,000 SKU. Every day, 75 warehouse employees carry out up to 46,000 warehouse operations, accepting an average of 150 deliveries of products and shipping more than 500 orders. In their work, the staff uses 60 TSD and 10 terminals using Pick-by-Voice technology.
The warehouse complex is divided into three separate blocks and a street area for storing goods. The warehouse is equipped with shelf, front pallet racks, 2-tier mezzanines and floor cells. Each type of product is located using its own storage system. The peculiarities of the storage system of goods in the warehouse within the framework of WMS imply exclusively automatic issuance of tasks to personnel for placement. All these factors were taken into account by the Toplog project team during the WMS TopLog setup.
Specialists of the integrator company in the framework of the project realized an atypical task - they developed and implemented an algorithm for calculating the regular make-up of mix addresses in the wheel selection zone. Thanks to this algorithm, the number of disks that differ from each other is calculated for each article, based on the HGC and the fraction of volumes in the cell. Due to this, warehouse employees were able to more efficiently distribute goods to the warehouse area.
Thanks to the automation of warehouse logistics, the speed of acceptance of goods and the quality of distribution of incoming goods for storage has increased, taking into account the HGC, storage conditions and types of stands. The quantity of warehouse personnel was also optimized. After the implementation of WMS TopLog, it is no longer necessary to manually enter information from paper documents during warehouse operations. The entire feeding process is now carried out by loader drivers, excluding storekeepers from this operation.
Warehouse personnel receive tasks generated by WMS in automatic mode at all stages of work with the item.
A motivation system has been implemented to improve the responsibility and quality of warehouse employees as part of the integration of WMS TopLog. This opportunity allowed management to calculate remuneration based on the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the work performed.
A significant plus TopLog WMS is open source code, thanks to which the customer can finalize and configure the system on his own. If necessary, contact Toplog technical support.
