2023: Implementation Plan for Instant IT Discovery and Analysis
On February 13, 2023, X5 Group announced that, together with LANIT-Integration (part of the LANIT group), they were introducing a solution for instant detection and analysis of events in the IT infrastructure based on artificial intelligence. In the future, a unified monitoring system will allow the retailer to improve the quality of digital services and optimize IT maintenance costs . The implemented solution is based on the intelligent platform MONQ, which is part of the register of domestic software.
In the course of a large-scale project, LANIT-Integration specialists fully automate the process of building and updating a resource and service model for the entire X5 Group and on its basis will create a "digital health map" of the business. After the complete launch of the system, the retailer will be able to automatically monitor the IT landscape in real time at all levels: from the operation of cash registers in the store to the supply planning system and interaction with counterparties.
The chosen domestic umbrella monitoring platform MONQ will combine the current IT monitoring and infrastructure management systems of the X5 Group, and intelligent assistants will allow you to quickly find the root causes of failures in each IT system and quickly inform those responsible for their solution. This means that the company will increase the loyalty of users and customers, and will also be able to ensure the maximum preservation of the costs incurred earlier.
X5 Group is constantly increasing the capacity of the IT infrastructure to ensure business growth and improve the reliability and quality of digital services. As of February 2023, together with LANIT-Integration specialists, we are changing the approach to monitoring - we are combining more than 35 local data sources into a single umbrella monitoring system that will help predict failures in the IT infrastructure, localize or promptly eliminate their consequences. Up-to-date information about its condition will be useful both to system administrators and to the management responsible for the development and operation of digital services. Also, as part of the formation of a single monitoring ecosystem, Kh5 Tech experts are developing their own platform for setting IT components and services for monitoring. The platform will allow both an ordinary user and a technical specialist to independently establish and track the state of infrastructure and business metrics of IT systems. With the platform, we can significantly reduce the average time to monitor the service, simplify the user path and ensure the management of metrics and thresholds of IT components and services. The implementation of this initiative would not be possible without the full implementation of a single umbrella monitoring system, said Oleg Gavrilov, director of IT services, support and infrastructure at Kh5 Group.

In Russia, industry leaders have quite mature information landscapes, and for their effective management, truly technological solutions are needed. For our experts, such a large-scale implementation is an interesting professional task. We approached it from two sides: we chose a domestic IT platform and combined it with a hybrid implementation model, which includes a classic cascade approach to project management and flexible practices. Such a synthesis should provide a high client return on investment ratio and become a technological reference point in the market, noted First Deputy Managing Director of LANIT-Integration Oleg Golovko.

Together with the LANIT-Integration partner, we are making a special project for the Kh5 Group in terms of scale and technical complexity. The platform being implemented will have to collect and analyze data on hundreds of thousands of devices, millions of metrics, grouping data by the same device or service from different sources, while reducing noise levels. The creation of a single IT resource and service model in a large distributed organization with the calculation of "health" both on the basis of internal metrics and on the basis of the external influence of other elements will increase transparency and reduce the time for investigating incidents. And all this in one MONQ system. That is, it becomes a single monitoring screen for the entire organization. It seems to me that the key factor of success in this project is the simultaneous interest of technical personnel following the IT strategy and business customers, told the Chief information officer and co-founder of Monq Digital Lab Alexey Kamenev.
