Zheldorekspedition (A data network - the Utilex project)

On June 10, 2010 — Utilex Company, the Russian supplier of consulting services in information technology field, completed the project on creation of a data network in the Novosibirsk cargo terminal of Service of transportation of goods of Zheldorekspediya.

The Novosibirsk cargo Zheldorekspedition terminal of class "A" of 24,000 sq.m. is created as the nodal center of deliveries and provides requirements of the company for warehouse. For start of necessary business services and uniform management of an object of such class the failsafe data transmission system was required.

The task of design and creation of a data transmission system on the basis of wire and wireless technologies with a complete covering of all premises of the Novosibirsk cargo Zheldorekspedition terminal was executed by specialists of Utilex company. The project included creation of the structured cabling system (SCS), a wireless and wired network of data transmission, the system of corporate telephony based on the IP protocol.

As a basis of single solution specialists of "Utilex" used the equipment Cisco Systems which reliability conforms to requirements to objects of class "A". Technical characteristics of a cable network based on the AMP Netconnect components with connection of 500 copper, 200 optical ports, provide functioning of all devices of the cargo terminal that allows to monitor online cargo transfer. Implementation of a wireless network of data transmission and wireless telephony allows employees to be mobile and to use their resources effectively across all territory of an object. Within the project specialists of "Utilex" rendered consulting services in IT systems of the cargo terminal.

As a system was designed, installed and tested by the Utilex company having the status of the system partner of AMP NETCONNECT, and its installation was carried out by the certified specialists, upon completion of the project Zheldorekspedition the system guarantee on AMP Netconnect SCS for a period of 25 years was provided. "Utilex" developed a structured cabling system, the system of a corporate IP telephony and a data transmission system on the basis of wire and wireless technologies with a complete covering of all premises of the Novosibirsk cargo terminal. As it was already mentioned, the wireless network of Zheldorekspedition company was built based on the equipment Cisco with AIR-1242 access points under centralized operation of the controller providing simplicity of setup and the increased security of network. These wireless access points have big temperature range that is important for such complex. Thanks to "seamless" roaming, the staff of Zheldorekspedition had an opportunity to use mobile terminals and wireless telephones in the territory of a logistic complex. The modular Cisco switch Catalyst 6500 with redundant components for ensuring fault tolerance of network became a core of network.
