By Softline the SAM project carried out to Zolla

On October 30, 2018 reported to Softline that in Faktor company which possesses the Zolla brand the decision to carry out the SAM project was made to estimate a condition of a corporate IT environment and to minimize risks for business using effective management of program assets. The partner selected Softline.

The command of Softline carried out the overview of program assets in two legal entities of the customer. Over 1000 workstations and more than 100 servers participated in the project. In general the client showed rather mature approach to management of lifecycle of software. In the company there are procedures of response to cyberthreats and instruments of counteraction to it: antivirus, filtering system of e-mail and web content. Experts of Softline recommended to the customer to concentrate attention on personnel training to ensuring cyber security and conducting testings for penetration into the IT system.

The project showed that 98% of the equipment of the client are ready to transition to Windows 10. Therefore it was recommended to it to refuse use of outdated desktop operating systems as they are removed from support by vendor and do not receive security update any more. Migration on Windows 10 and use of Advanced Threat Protection will allow to reveal and to timely block different cyberthreats. In addition, specialists of Softline told about such mechanism as BitLocker. Multifactor authentication and enciphering of information helps to protect data, even in attempt of their unauthorized use. To retail such technologies help to avoid reputation costs and to raise consumer confidence.

As an important measure of ensuring cyber security of the company it was recommended to block timely inactive accounts of employees that also helps to save on acquisition of licenses.

The analysis of use of office applications of the customer showed that deployment of packets of Office 365 and Office 365 ProPlus can become the perspective solution for formation of the centralized and standardized system of use of program assets. Use of Microsoft 365 E3 within the next 5 years instead of on premise of solutions will allow to save up to 10% of the IT budget.
