Biography

Andrei was born on June 9, 1960 in the city Upper Pyshma Sverdlovsk region,. Russia

In 1979 he studied at the Sverdlovsk Mining and Metallurgical College. I.I.Polzunov.

In 1993 he was educated at the Metallurgical Faculty of the Ural Polytechnic Institute (UGTU-UPI).

Candidate of Economic Sciences.

From 1979 to 1981 he served in the USSR Armed Forces.

In 1981 and until 1993 he worked as an electrician, head of the instrumentation and control section, deputy head of the automation laboratory, head of the equipment department, commercial director at the Uralelectromed plant.

1995: General Director of Uralelectromed

In 1995, he became the general director of the Uralelectromed plant. He worked until 2002.

1995: General Director of UMMC

In 1999, he received the post of general director of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC).

2002: General Director of UMMC-Holding

In 2002, he became the general director of UMMC-Holding.

In 2009, on shares with partner Igor Altushkin, he acquired the Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant from the owner of Sollers Vadim Shvetsov and the owner of ChelPipeNetherlands Komarov.

As of April 23, 2018, Andrei Anatolyevich Kozitsyn works as General Director of UMMC.

2022: Omnipol bought Aircraft Industries

At the end of April 2022, the sale of aircraft manufacturer Aircraft Industries to another Czech company Omnipol was announced. The website of the latter says that the asset was bought from a Russian, but his name is not called. Read more here.

Interesting facts

At the age of 13, a teenager Andrei Kozitsyn pulled a little girl out of the river and was awarded the medal "For Saving Drowning."

In 1998-1999, Kozitsyn was recognized as the winner of the annual regional competition "Leader in Business" in the highest personal nomination "Olympus." In 2001, he entered the top ten managers of the country in a survey of the economic weekly Expert. For services to the state, a great contribution to the development of non-ferrous metallurgy and many years of conscientious work, he was awarded the Order of Friendship.
