2022: "Sber" installed a fountain in the renovated park of ancient Derbent

In the Nizami Ganjavi Park in Derbent, Sber financed the construction of a light and music fountain complex with a total area of ​ ​ 4715 ^m2. The object is made in the architectural traditions of Dagestan from local natural stone. Sberbank announced this on July 17, 2022.

The interactive fountain releases 2,214 jets from one to 30 meters high into the sky. It can operate in static or one of five dynamic modes, includes nine bowls and is located on two tiers. The object is equipped with 1368 individually controlled light spotlights, two video projectors for projecting images and a powerful speaker system with high-quality sound.

Fountain software allows you to create unique water light and music shows and broadcast videos to the water screen. Excursions are held in the technical room of the facility: the elements of the fountain device are projected onto mesh screens and look like floating in the air.

The reconstruction of the park named after Nizami Ganjavi was also implemented with the financial participation of Sberbank. The park, named after one of the poets of the medieval East, is located in the center of Derbent and in July 2022 is the largest in the city, on its territory there is an ancient fortress wall and the gate of Kiyamat-kapa, which arose in the 9th-10th centuries.

Also, as part of the reconstruction of the park complex, the city administration, with the support of Dagestan businessmen, carried out landscaping, the construction of a museum, a library, an observation tower and a children's town.

When we arrived in Derbent three years ago, we immediately decided that the renovated park should become the pearl of the city, which for at least two thousand years adorns this beautiful land. I wanted to do something worthy of this ancient city. We looked at many projects, and even made big adjustments to the final one. For example, just a year ago, a library, a museum, the country's first fountain museum underground with the most complex technical structures appeared in the project. The fountain in Derbent is not just the largest in Russia - it is, first of all, the triumph of the skill of many people who took part in its creation. Much was done by hand thanks to the art of local craftsmen. Tens of thousands of people came to the opening of the fountain complex and we see that people are happy that people like - and this is the most important thing for us, "said German Gref, President, Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank.

The fountain and park complex, the fortress wall on its territory have become one of the most important tourist sites of the oldest city, which has the status of an object of cultural heritage of federal significance and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
