The head of Dagestan spoke about the directions of digitalization of the region

One of the significant areas of digitalization of the Republic of Dagestan is the development of satellite data transmission channels to ensure reliable Internet access in remote and hard-to-reach areas. This was announced on May 29, 2024 by the head of the region Sergey Melikov.

It is noted that in 2023, the implementation of the project "Elimination of digital inequality 2.0" began in Dagestan. It aims to create mobile networks of 4G the/LTE standard in small settlements with a population of 100 to 500 people. Under the Information Society program, post offices located in rural areas are being modernized. In 2023, 30 points were reconstructed, and a total of 315 branches were included in the program.

According to Melikov, an important task is to introduce digital technologies into public administration. In 2025, a new national project "Data Economics" will be launched, the goal of which is to transfer the economy, social sphere and authorities to new principles of work based on digital information. It is planned to improve the quality of public services provided. Among other areas of development are logistics, telemedicine and online education.

Another area of ​ ​ digital transformation of Dagestan is digital maturity. This figure in 2022 was 53.6% with a planned value of 46%. In 2023, it was possible to reach a value of 62.4% with a planned value of 59.1%. The indicator "digital maturity" is comprehensive and includes five industries: public administration - 87% at the end of 2023, education - 84.1%, health care - 82.5%, urban economy and construction - 40.5%, public transport - 17.8%.[1]

Transition to "Gosweb" sites of the authorities of Dagestan

2024: More than 15 killed in militant attack in Derbent and Makhachkala

The celebration of June 23, 2024 of one of the most revered Orthodox holidays - Holy Trinity Day - was overshadowed by a series of terrorist acts in the Caucasus region.

In the evening, militants staged a series of attacks in the Republic of Dagestan. In Derbent, shooting was opened in the area of ​ ​ the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos and the arson of the building of the Kele-Numaz synagogue was organized. Meanwhile, in Makhachkala around the same time, unknown persons fired at the traffic police post, and then staged a series of attacks in the north-west of the city, including in the vicinity of the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The head of the region Sergey Melikov made an appeal to the population. According to him, six militants were eliminated in Makhachkala and Derbent, while more than 15 police officers became victims of the terrorist attack, there are dead among civilians.

One of the dead was the head of the Dagestan Lights police department, Mavludin Khidirnabiev, who came to Derbent to fight the militants.

The death at the hands of terrorists of the rector of the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, Archpriest Nikolai Kotelnikov, is widely discussed.
