2024: Establishing a Company

The investment group Aton"" created its insurance company "Aton Life." The corresponding entry was entered into the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (Unified State Register of Legal Entities) on April 9, 2024.

According to Interfax, citing data from this register, the authorized capital of SK Aton Life LLC is 450 million rubles. The agency also notes that in early March 2024, the Aton group registered six domains at once (among them - atonlife.ru, aton-life.ru, atonlifeinsurance.ru, aton-lifeinsurance.ru) related to insurance. The group then noted that they see a big demand from investors for insurance services and are considering expanding the product line.

Aton did not specify whether the group would create an insurer from scratch or buy out the existing business. Sovcombank Insurance told Vedomosti that it is much easier to buy an existing player and develop it than to build these processes on your own: the minimum investment in creating an insurer is from several hundred million rubles. At the same time, the cost of obtaining a license is much lower than the investments necessary to fulfill the requirements of the Central Bank for authorized capital, IT infrastructure and personnel, said Igor Dyachishin, head of the legal directorate of Sovcombank Insurance, in a conversation with the publication.

According to Finam analyst Leonid Delitsyn, Aton could see favorable conditions to create a financial concern within the investment group. And Pavel Samiev, general director of the analytical agency Businessdrom, in a conversation with Vedomosti, suggested that it would be difficult for Aton to compete in the insurance market, and the main problem was to wedge into effective sales channels.^[1]
