History

2020: Attraction of 35 million rubles of investments during a sowing round

IT-startup Dioram – Russian the developer of SLAM technologies (SLAM - from engl. Simultaneous Localization and Mapping, simultaneous localization and map development) – announced on December 18, 2020 TAdviser attraction of 35 million rubles "angelic" investments during a sowing round.

The Russian developer of an algorithm of localization of devices in space of Dioram attracted 35 million rubles of investments

Dioram is going to allocate the raised funds for improvement of technologies and their bringing to an industrial sample. According to creators of a startup, the involved investments, can have a huge impact on the future of the domestic SLAM technologies which are crucial for projects in the field of augmented reality, robotics and different types of pilotless devices.

Developments of Dioram are based on technologies of computer vision and machine learning and aimed at the development of own SLAM technology. SLAM algorithms solve a problem of simultaneous localization of the device in space without external sensors and map development of surrounding three-dimensional space.

Developed in Dioram SLAM One laboratory SDK allows ARVR the producers / equipment, robotics or autonomous transport to receive the accuracy of localization of devices even when using available and inexpensive stereocameras without the need for application of lidars or cameras of depth. Similar technologies are still available only to single such companies as: Facebook Google Tesla Microsoft; the companies with specialization on SLAM physically are absent in the domestic market. Developments of Dioram are intended to provide SLAM technologies to both the Russian companies, and other global manufacturers of not having such developments in the state.

In last seed-round the Dioram company attracted about $450,000 investments from angel investors. Skolkovo Ventures became also minority shareholder of Dioram. According to creators of a startup, the raised funds will be allocated for improvement of the available concepts, pilot testing, creation of prototypes and bringing technologies to an industrial sample.

SLAM is a cornerstone for developments in the field of augmented reality, robotics and the systems of autonomous piloting. In the next decade this industry is expected by explosive growth, and we strongly intend to be in world vanguard of the companies which are engaged in similar researches. We are guided not only by the domestic market. The current accuracy figures of our algorithms already exceed public world SLAM algorithms, and I hope that the name Dioram will appear not only on Russian still more than once, but also on the World scene,
commented on CEO Dioram event Vasily Meshcheryakov.
