2024: Putin increases FSO central office

2019: FSO employees banned from using smartphones in secret work premises

Employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation will no longer be able to use mobile devices in premises where secret work is carried out or media constituting state secrets are stored. As reported in August 2019, TASS the FSO issued an order establishing the procedure for the use by employees of the service of electronic technical means capable of storing or transmitting through Internet audio, photo, video materials and geolocation data.

2018: Giving Cyber Warfare Functions

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on February 27, 2018 on amending the regulation on the Federal Security Service. The list of powers of the service was replenished with participation in "conducting information confrontation activities" and ensuring the work of the "departmental center of the state system for detecting, preventing and eliminating the consequences of computer attacks on information resources of the Russian Federation under the jurisdiction of the FSO." 2017: Amendments to the FSO Regulation

In June 2017, the deputies adopted in the third reading amendments expanding the powers of the FSO. Communication for government needs

In September 2010, a division of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation announced the results of an open tender for the selection of a telecom operator for the provision of communication channels, trunks and virtual private network services on the MPLS network for state needs.

According to the protocol, only one organization expressed a desire to participate in the auction - the Russian telecommunications operator Rostelecom, which requested 60 million rubles for the implementation of the state contract. - the customer indicated the same amount in the tender notice as the initial value of the contract. If there is only one application participating in the auction, the open tender was declared invalid.
