2020: Philips Healthcare purchased Intact Vascular

The Intact Vascular company located in Wayne, the State of Pennsylvania develops the specialized implanted Tack device for treatments of diseases of peripheral arteries which improves results of standard balloon therapy.

At the end of August, 2020 Philips Healthcare announced acquisition Intact Vascular companies for $275 million in advance. The transaction also includes deferred payments for which Philips should select a reserve in size of $85 million.

Philips purchased the producer of implants for treatment of arteries

The endovascular Tack system also represents the first in own way the device with the minimum content of metal which recovers vessel wall at stratification of peripheral arteries after balloon angioplasty in the area is higher and lower than a knee. According to the press release, the Tack device contains less metal, than stents that allows use it is more often at different options of treatment. Tack system improves results of angioplasty thanks to what is effective recovers a blood-groove in small vessels of extremities and promotes to healing.

The implant of Tack is equipped with the Adaptive Sizing system which allows adapt it to diameter to a vessel when preserving relatively permanent size. It means that the same implant it is possible use for vessels of different diameter, from 3.5 to 6.0 mm. That not less use of the Tack system is contraindicated at residual stenosis more than 30% of diameter of a vessel or at hypersensitivity to nickel-titanium alloy (nitinola).

Acquisition of Intact Vascular will expand a portfolio of Philips for low-invasive therapy of diseases of peripheral arteries.
