Polarion Software — the American developer of the ALM platform (Application Lifecycle Management) intended for process control of software development and allowing the organizations to control completely lifecycle of development of software, reducing duration, reducing costs, providing a continual loop of delivery of business solutions. Among clients of Polarion such companies, MTU Aero Engines and Airbus and also the American Air Force appear. The partner of Polarion in Russia — First Line Software (data for November, 2015).

2015: Sale of Polarion of Siemens company

At the end of November, 2015 it was announced sale of Polarion Software of Siemens company. The last thanks to the transaction expects to strengthen the PLM direction.

Conditions on which Siemens will perform Polarion acquisition are not called, including financial side of a question. It is going to close the transaction in the first quarter 2016.

Siemens PLM Software buys competitors of Polarion Software

After accomplishment of all necessary formalities concerning Polarion purchase, products of this company will be integrated with the software of Teamcenter from the Siemens PLM Software command. At the expense of it the German company will be able to improve support of systems for product development process control.

"Having added the solution Polarion ALM to our PLM portfolio, we will be able to help even better the companies with creation of "smart" network products. The advanced Polarion functions will be integrated with our software, the leading systems of development, testing and modeling" — the CEO and the president of Siemens PLM Software Chuck Grindstaff said.

According to the head of Polarion Frank Schroeder, to the declaration of sale to his company she cooperated with Siemens within two years (Siemens invested $10 million in Polarion in 2014), and after merge they are going to implement joint strategy.

"This acquisition is for us an opportunity to move further and to accelerate delivery of the valuable solutions PLM/ALM to our clients. We see in this transaction big benefit for clients, and we welcome expansion of opportunities which will appear at the company as a part of Siemens" — Schröder noted.[1]
