History

2023: Agroholding "Tavros" bought "Swans"

In October 2023, Rustem Mirgalimov's agro-asset management group, associated with Rustem Mirgalimov's Tavros agroholding, received shares in the Swans company, which grows and processes rice in southern Russia. This is evidenced by the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL).

As Kommersant writes with reference to the extract from the register, 49% in LLC "Swans" and LLC "Swans-Agro" received "Management of agricultural assets," another 2% - the general director and owner of the latter Denis Mayorov. Another 49% each belongs to Alexander Shiyanov. Details of the deal were not disclosed.

"Management of agricultural assets" received shares in the company "Swans"

Investment banker Ilya Shumov, in a conversation with the newspaper, suggested that, given the sale of only 51% of the shares, most likely, the transaction was partially in the form of cash-in, and the money will go, among other things, to the development of Swans LLC. Dmitry Rylko, general director of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies, says that a new investor can help "pack" the business to improve efficiency.

As indicated on the Swans website on November 8, 2023, the manufacturer manages a rice plant in the Krasnodar Territory, capable of processing 36 thousand tons of raw rice per year with the prospect of doubling this volume. "Swans-Agro" is engaged in rice farming in the Astrakhan region. In June 2023, the government of Kalmykia also announced the plans of Swan-Agro to invest 14.3 billion rubles. in the cultivation of rice for 10 thousand hectares in the region and the production of cereals. Agricultural holding "Tavros" owns 117 thousand hectares of agricultural land and produces meat, sugar and confectionery. The main assets are located in Bashkiria.

Kommersant notes that rice production may become a new direction for Tavros, although Rustem Mirgalimov himself is familiar with this business. Previously, he was a co-owner and chairman of the board of directors of the Razgulyai agricultural holding, which was one of the main rice producers in the Russian Federation.[1]
