History and Performance Indicators

2023: TAdviser interview with CEO Mikhail Ushakov

Despite the growing demand for remote jobs during the pandemic, the global market for thin clients with which this opportunity is realized is small. According to experts, 6-8 million devices are sold annually in the world, and this sales volume remains unchanged from year to year. However, this year there was an event that is expected to create a new one next to a not very large and dynamic market.

Andrey Suvorov, head of business development at Kaspersky Lab's KasperskyOS, and Mikhail Ushakov, CEO of the TONK group of companies, in an interview revealed the details of the creation and development of the promotion in Russia of a solution for building a cyber-immune and functional infrastructure of thin clients - Kaspersky Secure Remote Workspace. 2019: Partnership with Stratodesk. Availability of Stratodesk software on thin TONK clients in Russia

TONK Group, a Russian thin client manufacturer, and Stratodesk, an international developer of software for client devices, have entered into a strategic technology partnership agreement. This was reported to TONK on October 14, 2019.

Thanks to this partnership, Stratodesk enters the Russian market of thin clients. TONK devices have been working for many years in federal and regional state institutions. Already in 2019, TONK, now in conjunction with Stratodesk, will begin introducing innovative technologies for remote access to virtual applications and desktops. As part of the partnership agreement, a joint development and research center was created.

ON Stratodesk, tested on thin clients TONK, can also be used on any devices with -architecture and x86 most devices based on - ARM processors. By standardizing client devices, Stratodesk delivers savings, return on investment IT infrastructure in (), ROI and low cost of ownership (). TCO

It is expected that the partnership between TONK and Stratodesk will radically change the landscape of the thin client market in Russia. According to TONK, in the near future the Russian market of thin customers will receive a "fundamentally new" product, ready for use from the "box."

Companies, consumers of TONK terminal devices, can already get thin clients with Stratodesk software preinstalled. Unlike other thin clients that use local pre-installed Windows, Stratodesk software completely protects the client device, does not require antivirus programs, and is a truly revolutionary solution in managing client devices for VDI.

Stratodesk software will allow system administrators to automate all work related to remote management of the IT system, without the need for scripting and scripting skills. Linux

2015: TONK Group of Companies and ALT Linux became strategic and technological partners

General Director of the TONK Group of Companies Ushakov Mikhail. and ALT Linux CEO Smirnov Alexey signed a global technology partnership agreement. Since January 2015, the largest Russian manufacturer of thin clients and the country's leading developer of free software have begun joint development of terminals running operating systems based on the Linux kernel.

An important circumstance is the complete technological independence of the products of the TONK Group of Companies and ALT Linux from the development of foreign manufacturers. It allows consumers to painlessly hold events within the framework of the import substitution program and remove a number of problems faced by Russian customers in connection with sanctions from foreign suppliers of equipment and software.

Systems based on hardware solutions of TONK and ALT Linux software will be able to fully replace and proprietary virtualization tools from foreign manufacturers. Thus, the Alt Linux Centaur 7.0 multifunctional distribution kit for servers and workstations supports virtualization in a KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) environment on the x86 platform using the SPICE protocol.

"Our developments allow Russian customers to fully solve the problem associated with the replacement of products of companies that have joined the sanctions of foreign countries against the Russian Federation," emphasizes Mikhail Ushakov, General Director of the TONK Group of Companies. - Systems developed and manufactured in Russia and certified by FSTEC will be able to provide both the necessary functionality and the required level of information security. A good reason for our joint solutions with ALT Linux will be their full compliance with the new requirements for products in the framework of procurement for government needs. "

In November and December 2014, ALT Linux specialists conducted large-scale testing of all products of the TONK Group of Companies. It showed full compatibility of thin clients of TONK and secure computers LXBOX series 2 and 3 with software products of the Alt Linux SPT 7.0 family.

FSTEC completes the certification of new versions of ALT Linux products, which will be equipped with various TONK systems: Alt Linux SPT 7.0 Workstation (provides comfortable secure operation with limited access information with the ability to view and copy data of a lesser degree of confidentiality or from open sources), a system for a diskless workstation Alt Linux SPT 7.0 Thin Client and Alt Linux SPT 7.0 Server, combining all the capabilities of a classic server with modern management technologies.

2013: Partner Agreement with Systola

At the end of 2013, TONK Systola entered into a partnership agreement, under which Embedded will be installed on thin customers of the TONK 1500 series operating system Windows , finalized by Systola specialists, taking into account the safety and ease of use of DaaS services. Thus, the solution will be fully optimized for working with the DaaS SystoLINK platform, which is a full-fledged virtual office with a full set of tools for working and with an increased level of security, reliability and fault tolerance. In the future, the solution is planned to be promoted under the SystoLAN brand.

The 1500 series of TONK clients powered by AMD G-series processors in APU support allows you to perform some of the computing tasks on the device itself, reducing the load on the network and the central server. One of the advantages of the series is a democratic pricing policy: the cost of TONK 1500 series terminal solutions ranges from 7.5 thousand rubles to 11.5 thousand rubles, depending on the number of interfaces, installed memory and other parameters. The lineup includes four thin client models.

The TONK1000, which comes with the built-in, OS Linux is preinstalled with all the necessary virtualization clients (RDP, ICA, VmWare), including those for working MS Windows Server 2008 with TS. Provides support for modern cloud technologies. The thin client is compact, has no moving parts and consumes less than 8 watts, which makes it extremely attractive when deploying a large number of typical workplaces: call centers large offices, geographically distributed branches.

TONK also introduced new thin client models with hardware support for virtualizations Citrix HDX VMWare and View PCoIP protocols (the so-called "zero" or "zero-clients"). Zero clients contain the microcode of the virtualization client in the chip and allow you to quickly, efficiently and securely access the resources of remote virtual applications, desktops and desktops.

In 2012, the company updated the line of thin clients of the TONK 1400 and TONK 1800 series, the new devices use the modern processor Intel Atom D2550, which allows a thin client to process high-resolution graphics and video.

By the end of 2012, the group of companies completed work on the implementation of the trusted loading module MDZ-Echelon in thin clients. This software package provides trusted loading of the thin client, integrity control, identification authentications and user before transferring control - operating system that is, it protects against attacks aimed at modifying the BIOS.

In addition, last year TONK launched new models of TONK 1500, 2000, 3000 series computers built on the AMD APU platform and industrial electronic components of the highest quality. The platform is based on APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) technology - high-performance embedded AMD G-series processors. Such computers are capable of performing the widest range of all business tasks, including those related to the transmission of media content, 3D graphics and high-resolution video.
