2021: Isolation from TransTeleCom structure

Retail business (B2C) is separated from the telecommunications operator Transtelecom (TTK) into a separate company TTK-Svyaz. This became known on March 16, 2021.

According to Vera Evsegneeva, head of the department for management of subsidiaries and affiliates of Russian Railways (Russian Railways), owner of TransTeleCom, the reorganization of the company was completed in February 2021.

{{quote 'We must understand that the development of B2C is not a strategic segment for the holding, while there are different regions of the company's presence, including where, for example, there are no other operators, - said Vera Evsegneeva. - And this social function of Russian Railways is never pushed into the background. }}

At the same time, Deputy General Director of Russian Railways Alexander Plutnik commented that the final decision on the possibility of selling TTK-Svyaz will be made in 2021.

The scenarios are different, we will discuss the conditions for a possible sale with the board of directors, "said Alexander Plutnik. - The sale of Transtelecom itself has so far been abandoned. TransTeleCom is a very well-structured company involved in all of our digitalization and digital transformation processes.

The final cost will depend on how much of the urban infrastructure enters the company. At the same time, I do not see risks in such a transaction - Russian Railways and TransTeleCom will retain the infrastructure necessary for the functioning of Russian Railways, - said Konstantin Ankilov.
